We pride ourselves in supplying our children with excellent food.  We feel that it is one of the most important parts of a child's life - to eat properly.

Eating a healthy diet enables a child to live life to the full and gives them a better performance all round, specifically helping them with their concentration levels - which in turn affects achievement.

We therefore encourage all of our children to have a school dinner.  We have a high uptake of school dinners at our school.  It is good to know that our children are getting a well balanced and healthy school meal.

You are welcome to come into school to have a school dinner with your child on any day, provided the meal has been booked with the school office by 9.30 a.m. on the day you required a school meal.  The cost for an adult two course meal is £3.20 and the cost of child's meal in KS2 is currently £2.20.  Autumn Winter 2016 Meal Charges.  Spring Term 2017 Meal Charges.

Eligibility for Free School Meals

From September 2014, all children in Foundation Stage, Year 1 and Year 2 will receive a free, hot school meal.  This is a government initiative to support the health and well being of children in these year groups.

The introduction of Universal Free School Meals does not eliminate the need for families to apply for 'Free School Meals'.  For every child eligible for 'Free School Meals' the school will receive extra funding known as the Pupil Premium (currently £1320 per eligible child).  This funding would allow your child to attend after school clubs and our Breakfast Club free of charge and also allow the school to buy in additional activities and resources that support the development and educational attainment of your child.

If you think you may be eligible for 'Free School Meals' please answer the questions below:

  • Are you in receipt of income support/income based job seekers allowance or income related employment and support allowance?
  • Are you entitled to child tax credit but NOT receiving working tax credit and your annual income must be below the threshold set by the government? (£16,190 but subject to change).

  • Are you in receipt of the guarantee credit element of pension credit?
