On a day in January there was a whole class running around the roof of the South Trancept of Beverley Minster. The roof was constructed from oaks from Sherwood Forest donated by the King. Maybe Robin Hood slept under one of them.
This term's Inspiration Day was spent at The Treasure House and Beverley Art Gallery. We spent time with conservators working on medieval charters and 1930s photograph. We also investigated the artwork of Fred and Mary Elwell.
A very big thank you to Mrs Layton, Mrs Woodmansey, Mrs Castle and Mrs Burrell who came into class to share their health care skills with us and tell us about their chosen profession.
Connor managed to stop the clock exactly on 5 seconds, not one hundedth more, not one hundredth less.
Here is our mindmap for our new "Keeping Healthy" theme. Thank you to all those who gave suggestions for additional learning and for giving ideas about how we could study this theme.
October 2009 ... we have been recycling old clothes by making rag rugs. Eventually each individual piece will be brought together into one giant rug.
Friday 2nd October 2009 ... after a very generous offer of winter bedding plants from Croft Nurseries we managed to completely renew all our hanging baskets and 9 tubs around the front entrance of the school.
Friday 25th September ... Hannah found this hedgehog entangled in the cargo net. We carefully cut it free and watched it toddle off into the woodpile ... after Christening him (her?) Mr Pickles!
Robinwood ... another great outdoor and adventurous visit. Thank you to all who took part and all those that made it happen.
Our first trip into the organic veggie garden. Lots of weeding, caterpillar squashing and litter picking to be done after our 7 week break.
